Quick facts

Central Point at a glance

Central Point is an incorporated city in Jackson County, ZIP code 97502, just north of Medford on I-5 at Exit 33. The Jackson County Expo, home of the county fair, is here, and the Medford airport is a few minutes away. Downtown Medford is about 10 minutes south, and the Table Rocks are a short drive north.

What it's like

Living in Central Point

Central Point is the valley's convenient choice, with a sweet tooth. Rogue Creamery makes its blue cheese on North Front Street, and in 2019 its Rogue River Blue became the first American cheese named World's Best Cheese at the World Cheese Awards. Ferment & Fire pours house beer, with trivia on Tuesdays.

Every summer the county fair fills the Expo grounds. Toward the Table Rocks, Bigham Farms sells produce and pumpkins in season, and the Lower Table Rock trail is a short drive north. The Bear Creek Greenway, the paved path that starts in Ashland, ends here.

Homes lean newer than most of the valley, with subdivisions built over the last few decades, an older core near downtown, and farmland on the edges.

Before you buy here

The homework

In newer subdivisions, read the HOA rules and fees. Near Bear Creek and Griffin Creek, check the flood zone. On the rural edges, confirm the zoning and whether the home is on city services or a well and septic.
